Admission by donation.
The Sunshine Coast Film Society invites the community to pack up beach blankets
and lawn chairs and head to Winegarden Waterfront Park in Gibsons Landing for
an evening of movies after dark. (You might want to bring a jacket and a flashlight.)
There will be popcorn and lawn prizes. Film Society memberships for 2007/8 will
also go on sale.
PROGRAM

The film program for all ages
starts with three episodes of The Beachcombers:
- Our Champion (1973) - To keep the new fires truck, a champion
from Gibsons must win a boat race against the wealthy snobs of Hopkin's Landing.
- Mission at Dawn (1983) - Relic is inadvertently hypnotized
into thinking that he is a World War I flying ace, and takes off in an ultralight
to bomb the Persephone.
- Anatomy of an Accident (1985) - A complicated chain-reaction
accident in front of Molly's Reach and the Bank of Montreal leave the entire town
in casts and bandages, except for Nick.
Three NFB animated shorts complete the evening:
- The Balgonie Birdman,
- Village of Idiots
- Invasion of the Space Lobsters.
